You may want to review the links for each of these MS Office related products on http://office.microsoft.com/products.

The products listed are all separate parts of the Microsoft Office 2007 family (if you're referring to MS Office Sharepoint Server
rather than MS Windows Sharepoint Services 3.0) and each has its own functionallity, they're part of a coordinated collaboration
system, each playing its own part, not really a 'which is better', as they're not interchangeable.
