Outlook 2003 fails to send mail through an SSL-equiped mail server - reboot resolves it temporarily

Hello,

I have a customer where her email is working fine for the majority of
the time in Outlook 2003 but suddenly the program will stop sending
mail and the messages will remain in her outbox. At that point, the
only thing she has been able to do to get Outlook to send the messages
is to reboot the computer. She's running XP Home on a Compaq NC6320
laptop.

I asked her if she's seen any error messages and her reply was
"Normally no. I even get a finished sending note. But I did notice
once that it said it was synchronizing the folders."

The SMTP server is accessed with SSL on port 25 and uses the same
authentication as the main pop3 server.

I'm at a loss to see what could be wrong.

Thanks a lot!
