Lost links if save in new office 2007 format (*.docx *.docm ... ..

// sorry for my english, i am spanish //

I work with Microsoft Outlook and OneNote. I put a lot of links to files
type *.doc and *.xls

In Office 2007, if i edit my old files (*.doc) and transfer to the new
format, the files save as (*.docm). Thats a BIG PROBLEM!!! All my links to
the original files LOST!!!

I need save the office 2007 files with extension *.doc (for example) and
with the news features of office 2007.

Is it possible?

Hi Maximo,

At some point you may want to start updating your link pointers, but for now, yes it is possible, but not recommended, by putting
the full name in quotes.

For example, when saving, choose the Word 2007 format and type in
"myfilename.doc"

Re: Lost links if save in new office 2007 format (*.docx *.docm ..

Ohhh!!!! That´s a big solution for the moment!!!

Thanks!

Note: I think that in my bussiness the migration isn´t possible. They have a
complex intranet that open complex word documents (*.doc) based in automatic
internal links (*.dot). If the name of *.dot files changue in the
migration... buff... the liks lost.

I think microsoft is not consience that a lot of bussines have programs that
have a permanent links. The changue of the name of a file = destroyed links.
