| Installing Office XP on Windows 2003 Server w/Sp1, Office XP asking for SP1 CD-ROM... I installed SP1 from EXE... help Hello, I'm a Software Quality Assurance Engineer and one of my tasks is to install several versions of Office (XP - 2007) on a 2003 Server running Citrix Presentation Server. This happens to be running on a Virtual Server VM. I am running the Office XP Professional install and about 3/4 of the way through it keeps asking for the 2003 Service Pack 1 CD-Rom to placed in the drive. I have at least two issues: 1. SP1 was installed via the SP1 EXE, not a CD or DVD, or even an ISO image 2. I have saved the i386 DIR from the SP1 install to the local C:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 DIR for times just like this... can I somehow spoof Office XP install to just look there? 3. I downloaded the SP1 ISO from MSDN, mounted it to the VM, and Office XP squaks and says not the correct CD... Is there a way to get around this? Again SP1 was NOT installed via a CD/DVD, just the EXe I downloaded from MS (WindowsServer2003-KB889101-SP1-x86-ENU.exe) Thanks in advance. Joel Sheppard |

It is either XP(2002) or is it the Office Beta 2007. Next . I have W2K3 SP1 under Windows Service Pack Files\i386. Maybe if you point the download there (if you have it) then it can pick it up possibly. And lastly you may need to slipstream the SP1 pack with the W2K3 install CD. My recommendation is to prepare a slipstream of the W2K3 and SP1. That should solve your problem -- Peter Please Reply to Newsgroup for the benefit of others Requests for assistance by email can not and will not be acknowledged. <shepp67******.com> wrote in message news:1168640456.910228.103160@38g2000cwa.googlegro ups.com... > Hello, > > I'm a Software Quality Assurance Engineer and one of my tasks is to > install several versions of Office (XP - 2007) on a 2003 Server running > Citrix Presentation Server. | Re: Installing Office XP on Windows 2003 Server w/Sp1, Office XP asking for SP1 CD-ROM... I installed SP1 from EXE... help So... normally when I see someting like: 1 - 100 The hyphen (-) means 1 THROUGH 100... I am installing Office XP, Office 2000, AND Office 2007 on the same machine (amazing I know, but true). There is no 'download' tp 'point' to... this is an installation of Office XP from and ISO file mapped to a Virtual Machines virtual CD-ROM. I even downloaded the ISO of 2003 SP1 from MSDN and the Office XP install is still complaining that 'The CD you inserted into drive D: is not the correct disk. Please place the Service Pack 1 CD-ROm into...' Is there a registry setting that Office XP is looking at that it thinks that 2003 SP1 was installed from, or something else I can do to get this Office XP install to look at the c:\Windows\ServicePackFiles\i386 DIR? Thanks, Joel Peter Foldes wrote: > You say Office XP-2007? It is either XP(2002) or is it the Office Beta 2007. > > Next . I have W2K3 SP1 under Windows Service Pack Files\i386.
