| convert speech files to text. I would like to know if there is a way to take a sound file that is on my computer and convert it into text. I recently purchased a travel voice recorder. I can load the voice files to my computer but would like to be able to transfer them into typed texted, most likely in Microsoft Word. I have Windows XP with Office 2003 on my computer. I have full use of the language bar settings. Is there a macro that will allow me to do this? Or do I need to buy additional software? |

Maybe Dragon Naturally Speaking can do it, it's not going to work with just Office and XP. flipnfly8 wrote: > I would like to know if there is a way to take a sound file that is on my > computer and convert it into text. > > I recently purchased a travel voice recorder. | Re: convert speech files to text. I have been using Dragon Naturally Speaking 9.0 on Office 2003 for several months and it works very well for standard dictation - fast and accurate after little learning on the part of the user and the program. However, in office 2007 it was making errors and slow. I found the solution to be a free upgrade to 9.5, which was built for Microstoft Vista but also works with XP. The key part seems to be the file structure change in 2007. I use preferred and it was about $200 at many vendors. It is now fast and accurate, and i tested it in 2007 word, onenote, and outlook.
