MS Office Professional Plus 2007 has locked, why?

I bought the full version of MS Office Professional Plus 2007 in the middle
of March 2009 and it was working fine for just over a month. Just yesterday
I went to use Word and Excel and both are locked with the message - 'This
modification is not allowed because the selection is locked'.

I've gone through all the info I can find and everything is saying that my
trial version will have run out. I have bought the full version so this not
possible.

What can I do to unlock all my office programs????

Please help...

Re: MS Office Professional Plus 2007 has locked, why?

If you failed to uninstall any trial version, then rebooted, prior to
installing your paid for version, that is the cause of your problem
Using ad/remove dialogue you need to uninstall all and any versions of
Office 2007 shown, together with any activation assistant, clear temp files,
then reboot, prior to installing your paid for version

Re: MS Office Professional Plus 2007 has locked, why?

I'll try wiping everything to do with office again but I had done this
before. The only thing I'm not sure if I did was wipe all the temp files.
Could this be the problem?

If so once I have wiped all programs to do with office off my laptop, reboot
and then re-install with the same activation key will this sort everything
out?

Thanks for you help, it's really apreciated

Re: MS Office Professional Plus 2007 has locked, why?

"If" you had a trial version you failed to remove origonally this would be
the case.
Currently if you start Word, then select Word Options from the Orb Btn,
Resources the about will indicate the version and type ie Trial

And, Activate will indicate whether its activated

Re: MS Office Professional Plus 2007 has locked, why?

Ok I'll give that a go when I get home from work tonight.

As you mention I have tried going through the orb button, word options and
then hit activate but absolutely nothing happens? Should I get a flash up
box telling me it's activated or is there anything else I should be looking
for? I'm guessing it means I'm activated because if it doesn't there's no
option given by which to activate?

I know when I installed MS Office Professional Plus 2007 that I entered the
product code supplied with the disk I bought. Does that not activate it or
is there anything else I need to do to activate and if so how?

Thanks

Re: MS Office Professional Plus 2007 has locked, why?

Entering a key doesnt activate the product
You need to look in word options and see exactly what it says in Word About

Re: MS Office Professional Plus 2007 has locked, why?

Thanks for your help, I seemed to get somewhere with it but now it says that
the product needs activated. This would be fine if the activate button in
any of the office programs option actually worked??? It says 'Activation is
required in order to use all features of this product' so I'm going through
the Microsoft Office button, then clicking on Word Options, then in the
Resources section I'm clicking on Activate.

Absolutely nothing is happening when I do this? Can you help me get this
activated? Is there anything else I can do, I'm totally at a loss as to how
to make this work.

Thanks,

Neil
