| Explorer 7 blocks site from using active x control in unsafe manne Tried posting this in IIS discussion forum as well as Microsoft IE Forum but no one answered so hoping one of you knowledgable MVP's won't mind helping me here. Using Vista Home Premium/ Explorer 7: Using IE7; Trying to view my AT&T bill in "print preview" mode and get above error message in information toolbar: "Explorer 7 blocks site from downloading active x control " Follwed instruction below to turn off information toolbar but still won't allow me to view in "print preview". Don't have this problem using Mozilla Firefox Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options. Click the Security tab, and then click Custom level. Do one or both of the following: To turn off the Information bar for ActiveX controls, scroll to the ActiveX controls and plug-ins section of the list, and then, under Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls, click Enable. To turn off the Information bar for file downloads, scroll to the Downloads section of the list, and then, under Automatic prompting for file downloads, click Enable. Click OK, click Yes to confirm that you want to make the change, and then click OK again. Could this be a web issue with AT&T although it works in Firefox |

You probably should post to an MSIE group, as it's a browser problem, not an IIS (web server) problem. The steps you've followed seem like they'd have MSIE not tell you about blocked content, rather than enable it. I'd think you'd WANT the information bar to warn you so that you could then enable the ActiveX control on a case-by-case/when trusted basis. > > Using Vista Home Premium/ Explorer 7: > > Using IE7; Trying to view my AT&T bill in "print preview" mode and get above > error message in information toolbar: > "Explorer 7 blocks site from downloading active x control " > > Follwed instruction below to turn off information toolbar but still won't > allow me to view in "print preview". Not sure it is your proplem. In Internet Options select the Privacy tab. If you are using Custom, click on the Sites button. Check the the list of sites to see if you are blocking anything from AT&T or just remove all of the block sites. Don |
