Have the original disc: How can I delete and reinstall Microsoft.

Parts of Office Standard 2007 were inadvertently deleted, impacting the whole
system. I have the original disc. How can I completely delete and then
reinstall MSO 2007?
Thanks for your consideration and help.

It's extraordinarily difficult to "inadvertently" delete "parts" of the
Office Suite.
Why not do a repair via control panel and re-add those parts that are
missing?

Use the Control Panel to uninstall it, reboot, put the disk in and reinstall
it.

Why are you searching? Control Panel - Programs and Features (in Vista -
Add/Remove Programs in XP) and just scroll down to Microsoft Office...

Hi, Gordon ~ I am woefully inept. Could you please tell me how to repair
via control panel and re-add those parts that are missing? Thank you for
your time and expertise. Esther

OK. Quite simple.
Firstly, what parts are missing?

Hi, again. The reason I am performing a search for any remaining parts of
MSO Standard 207, is that even though the application (& updates) are listed
on the control panel, I am unable to perform the "REMOVE" function. When I
enter "remove" the field turns blue and does not remove anything.

Where are you seeing "Remove"? On mine it says "Uninstall".
And the only way you see the individual parts of Office is if you click on
Office in Control Panel-Programs and Features (or the XP equivalent), click
on Change at the top and then select Add or Remove Features.
You won't see the individual components of Office by doing a search...

On the Add or Remove Programs, to the extreme right of the application name
there are two boxes: "CHANGE" or "REMOVE". Am I in the wrong section?

No that's correct. And when you click on Remove, nothing happens?
If you click on Change does anything happen?
If not, then I would suggest just putting the CD in the drive and
re-installing.

Okay, I did as you suggested and although it looked as though it would
install, I received the prompt Encountered an Error during setup" CLOSE.
Finally, I followed up on Microsoft Support and referring to a"An error
message when you try to apply any of the 2007 Office Service Pack 1 Packages
on a computer that is running Windows XP Service Pack 2" and went on with
further lengthy instructions which will hopefully resolve this issue. Again,
thank you for your efforts, they are sincerely appreciated.
