Outlook Address Book vs Outlook Express Address Book

Using Office 2000 you could share contacts between Outlook and the Outlook
Express address book. Using 2003 you can't share them. I have two questions:

1. Is there any way to force (maybe a registry tweak) Outlook 2003 to share
contacts with the Outlook Express address book?

2. How can I make a shortcut that will open the Outlook 2003 contact list?

Thanks.

Re: Outlook Address Book vs Outlook Express Address Book

Is there a specific reason for wanting to use OE address book?

Re: Outlook Address Book vs Outlook Express Address Book

They took away the option but the registry setting is still there.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\WAB\WAB4

Create a DWORD and call it

UseOutlook

Give it a value of 1.

You might have to keep doing this every time you update Office 2003.

Note that this doesn't work with Office 2007 (if you upgrade at a later
date).

Re: Outlook Address Book vs Outlook Express Address Book

Many thanks for this solution!

I'm currently running XP with Office 2000, but on my days off I'll load up
Office 2003 and check it out.
