BAD Word File Size growth

I have a word document, using a OFFICE ONLINE downloaded report template.

Every time I make a small text change, the file grows by 1MB. I have used
some suggestions in the newsgroup regarding saving as "WEB PAGE" and
reopening in WORD. That definitely helped reduce the file from 15MB to 1.2MB,
but the file starts to grow stupidly once again.

I have many cut/paste graphics, but since it reduced to 1.2MB I dont suspect
that is the issue. I have also removed all the recommended "Fast Saves..
Revision Settings, etc" There seems to be a flaw in the app. Any new
suggestions other than to save as "WEB PAGE" and REOPEN in WORD once a week.

Make sure you are not using versions...
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/General/DisplayVersions.htm

Also, your document may be corrupting, so I would open and repair it. From
the Open menu inside of Word XP and 2003, there is a down arrow near the
Open button, click it and select Open and Repair.

Re: BAD Word File Size growth

Thx Dawn,
That was the fix (OPEN and REPAIR)

I realize that this is a vague question but could this corruption be
attributed to OFFLINE FILES?

Re: BAD Word File Size growth

It very well could. Graphics are also a real "hog". If your document is
pretty graphic intensive, then one alternative is to link to the graphics
rather than embed them. http://word.mvps.org/faqs/drawinggraphics.htm
