Was Testing Office 2007 Beta when hard drive crashed

I was one of the beta testers testing Office 2007 when my main hard drive
crashed back in October. When I installed the Office 2007, I installed it on
on my G Drive. My Microsoft Office 2003 is installed on my F Drive.
However, certain files installed on the C Drive, the drive that crashed. By
the time the replacement drive was installed, Microsoft announced that Office
2007 would be available to Business. Since I had to re-installed all of my
software applications, I would like to know if it is permissible to
re-installed Office 2007 since I have backed up the beta versions on DVD
during my regular backup process, or should I just wait until January to
purchase the upgrade for Microsoft Office 2007. I cannot find any
information anywhere. I don't want to reinstall the beta versions, if it is
illegal to do so once the beta testing period is over. I still have my
registration code. I already know which version of Microsoft Office 2007 I
am purchasing. I just need the price.

Re: Was Testing Office 2007 Beta when hard drive crashed

Hello Bob,

Thanks for responding. However, the link you provided has been closed down.
I don't need to re-download the beta versions. They are already on my
backup drive. I just need to know if I can still use the beta version
legally or just wait until January when Microsoft Office 2007 is released to
the general public.

Also tried to fill out the information for the Try It Now, but there is no
way to input one's phone number. It kept saying it needed valid or missing
phone number, but there is not listing to input that information.

Are you in the US? The trials from the link that Bob provided are for US customers. If you are not in the US, then look to your local Microsoft Worldwide site to see if a trial is offered in your country.

Yes, I am in the US. I still have my hard copy receipt and registration
when I download the beta version of Microsoft Office 2007. I tried the link
again after re-reading the message from Bob. This time I clicked on the
"Try It Now", and entered in the requested information for the profession
version, but now it states "invalid or missing telephone number", but this is
no field for you to input in the number or correction. What gives here? I
all I need is someone from the Office 2007 team to answer my question and not
go around "Robin Hood's barn".

Re: Was Testing Office 2007 Beta when hard drive crashed

Sorry, I don't know, this is a user to user support group, if you want
"official" Microsoft support you will need to contact them directly. I
was under the impression that since the Trial is available, the Betas
were no longer supported, as in "no new installations". If you had a
working installation, it would go till the time out, but a
reinstall/activation wouldn't go any more. That was why I pointed you to
the Trial version. You may need to scroll around to see what's missing.

Hi 930,

There have been a occasional issues with the Office 2007 Trial site.
Which edition trial were you selecting?
What version of Windows are you on, what browser version are you using and do you allow cookies and ActiveX controls for the trial
site?

For MS suggested retail pricing you'll find the link on
http://office.microsoft.com/suites

Re: Was Testing Office 2007 Beta when hard drive crashed

Thank you for quick response. I selected the Microsoft Office 2007
Professional Version. I wanted the Microsoft Office 2007 Profession Ultimate
version, but it was not listed among the selections. My operating system is
Windows XP Pro SP2, with all the upgrades and updates, I use IE 7. I log
into the Microsoft website (and the one you provided) through MSN Premium.
Yes my setup is correct to allow access to the Microsoft trial site. Any
other suggestions?
