Hi Damo,

You may want to check with the folks in the MS Office Accounting discussion group using the link below. At present the 2007
versions are setup mainly for the U.S. market in their current form.

According to the download page:
http://www.ideawins.com/Downloads1.aspx

Important note: At this time, Office Accounting Express 2008 is designed for
US and UK based small businesses only and does not support local requirements
outside of these two countries. The version you are about to download is the
US version. If you require the UK version please visit

Cool Re: Can I change the base currency to Euro in MS Office Accounting?

I have UK edition. I changed it directly in sql server. I followed the following steps. Do not try on live data. Create a new company and before entring data do it.
1. Close office Accounting if open.
2. Open table "CurrencyTable" in SQL Server Management Studio.
3. Change ISO Code, and Symbol of the Currency of your desire
4. Move to next line.
5. You are done! Open MS Office Accounting again.
6. Open Foreign Currency form Company->Foreign Currency->Currency List and change the description of new currency of your choice. If foreign currency item does not appear in Company Menue, enable it in Company->Preferences->Company Tab

Re: Can I change the base currency to Euro in MS Office Accounting

Ashhar,

I'm trying to change the base currency to euro but I haven't been able to
follow your instructions. Now this is more than likely my fault but I was
wondering if you would be able to help me with more detailed instructions or
get in contact using MSN?

Thanks,

Adrian Purcell.

Re: Can I change the base currency to Euro in MS Office Accounting?

Open the database created for the company and execute the following SQL command or use a database editor to make the change:

update companyaccounttable set currencyId=80

The value 80 is selected from the CurrencyTable which is as follows:
isocode symbol supportingtableid
GBP £ 79
EUR € 80
USD $ 81
AUD AU$ 82
CAD CA$ 83
SEK SKr 84
DKK DKr 85

Re: Can I change the base currency to Euro in MS Office Accounting?

On running SQL Server Studio connect to the Server Name HOST\MSSMLBIZ.

Click on "New Query" in the toolbar.

From the dropdown now shown in the toolbar and select the company you want to change.

As the Yen is not in the currency table the easiest way would be to change the GBP to the Yen.

Type the following in the SQL box:

update CurrencyTable set IsoCode='YEN', Symbol='Y' where supportingTableId=79

Click Execute.
(Y - should be replaced with the Yen symbol)
