| Re: Office 2000 Professional and Windows XP and Vista Thanks JoAnn. It's my daughter's problem. She has Off 2000 Pro and Win Me on her PC and she can no longer connect to the internet. Don't know what's wrong. Think I'll reformat the hard drive, then install Win XP, then reinstall Off 2000 Pro. If viruses are causing the problem, this should clear them. Sound reasonable to you? Thanks, Robert "JoAnn Paules [MVP]" wrote: > Yes to Win XP. | Re: Office 2000 Professional and Windows XP and Vista I would try a virus scan first if you suspect that's the problem. I have no problem with reformats but I would try to diagnose the issue first, then decide what I'd do next. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] ~~~~~ How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/KB/555375 "rschmitt" <rschmitt@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:239F54FD-BB34-4BA0-BEC8-A29173DFA724@microsoft.com... > Thanks JoAnn. | Re: Office 2000 Professional and Windows XP and Vista I beleive she said that she gets many hits every time she runs the virus scanner. I'll scan for viruses on her PC tomorrow and see what recommendations it makes. Robert "JoAnn Paules [MVP]" wrote: > I would try a virus scan first if you suspect that's the problem. | Re: Office 2000 Professional and Windows XP and Vista It sounds like she's not running and AV program at all. If that's the case, you may end up doing that reformat after all. I recently worked on a system with the Klez worm (nasty little bugger!). I got lucky - I only had to do a repair of Windows after removing it. Just in case you do have to wipe everything clean, make sure you have all of her CDS and the *product keys* before you start. I would recommend running Belarc Advisor first so you know what she has installed and take it from there. Good luck. -- JoAnn Paules MVP Microsoft [Publisher] ~~~~~ How to ask a question http://support.microsoft.com/KB/555375 "rschmitt" <rschmitt@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:418F9795-160C-4CE9-9066-E795543DFBDA@microsoft.com... >I beleive she said that she gets many hits every time she runs the virus > scanner.
