How to add "undo" to quick access toolbar in 2007?

Hi --

I've been using 2007 for ~ 1.5 months (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint,
Publisher). Although I remain in the "wishing vainly for a drop-down menu
option" camp, I'm trying to adjust to the ribbon. In doing so I've referred
to the various "2003 to 2007 command reference guides" which have helped a
bit -- however, I cannot find UNDO. I have a frequent need for UNDO. For Word
2007 and Excel 2007, the "2003 to 2007 command reference guides" show that
UNDO should be available in the Quick Access Toolbar -- but I cannot find it
at all, even when I try to customize the QAT (not under add-able command
lists for File, Home, Insert, or any of the rest of them).

Can anyone help?
Thanks

Re: How to add "undo" to quick access toolbar in 2007?

As you've read, the Undo command should be a standard command on the
QAT by default. Forgive me if this sounds obvious, but have you
located the QAT? By default it's next to the Office Button above the
Ribbon. If you have found it then you should be able to find Undo in
the command well for Popular Commands at the bottom of the list. .

The list for "Popular Commands" has Undo. It should already be on the
QAT btw. You could try resetting your QAT.

Re: How to add "undo" to quick access toolbar in 2007?

Patrick and Beth -- thanks for your replies -- yep, I do know where the QAT
is :) and oddly, it did not come pre-populated with commands. I also could
not find a "popular commands" option -- but just looked around some more, and
found I could add UNDO from a drop-down category under Customize QAT called
"commands not in ribbon."

THANKS,
Kelly

Re: How to add "undo" to quick access toolbar in 2007?

Hi Kelly,

You should install the B2TR patch. From your description, you are still
running B2. You can verify this when you look under Word Options e.g.,
Resources. The version string for Office there reads 12.0.4017 in your
case, but it should be 12.0.4407.
