free trial set up

I have downloaded the free trial for office 2003 several times but I can't
get it to install on my computer. I am running XP home. The latest message
says "win.exe is not a valid system 32 application" and won't let me install
it. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong! Is there an additional download I
need?
