| Excel files show 'unrecognizable format' & Word files are 'decoded For some reason all my Excel files will not open and 'The File is not in an unrecognizable format' is being displayed. I have tried renaming the files and saving with a different extention, but this does not work. I am also having problems with opening my Word files every time I try to open a file the a pop up displaying the following 'select the coding that makes your document readable' appears. Please help, as I have lots of work on the Excal and Word files and no back up!! Many thanks. -- Shawaz |

| Re: Excel files show 'unrecognizable format' & Word files are 'decoded maybe a chkdsk and fix errors might help. right click on the drive, select properties for the option. if you can enable to start chkdsk on next boot, then select it and reboot. see what happens then...
