| reading office 97 documents with office 2003 over network Hi there I am trying to view and edit documents that are on a desktop computer running Windows 98, on my laptop running Windows XP over a network. The computer with 98 on it is running Office 97 and my laptop is running Office 2003. I can, using my laptop(XP,office 2003), go in and view what folders and files are on the host computer(98,office 97), but when I try to open any of these office files, they will not open( word, or excel programs). I can send them from the host computer to my laptop via email and open them, or I can open them from another laptop that is a part of the network that is running office 2000 and save them to that laptop, and then view them with my own laptop, but can not open the files on the host computer from my laptop(office 2003). If anyone can help with this matter it would be greatly appreciated. |
