| Office 2007 Activation and Microsoft Office Beta Team idiocy I have been trying to activate my Office 2007 beta, and like a number of people, I am unable to do so. I sent a mail off to the Office 2007 Beta Team (the email id is available on the beta download site) and here is the back and forth response (needless to say, I still haven't been able to activate): Thank you for contacting Microsoft Office Beta Team. We apologize for the error that has occurred. Please try to download your program again later. Kind regards, Microsoft Office Beta Team. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Aditya Sengupta [mailto:aditseng********.com] Sent: vendredi 27 octobre 2006 06:54 To: MicrosoftOfficeBetaTeam Subject: RE: Unable to activate Hi, The problem is not with my download. As you can see on the office 2007 discussion boards, a number of people are facing the same problem. They either get a message saying cannot connect to internet or a message saying activation server is down for maintenance. What is the issue, and how can I resolve it? Regards, Aditya -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: RE: Unable to activate Date: Thu, 26 Oct 2006 09:06:51 -0500 From: o12beta.en.ots@ltg.info To: aditseng********.com Thank you for contacting Microsoft Office Beta Team. We apologize for the error that has occurred. Please try to download your program again using the links and product keys provided in your original confirmation email. Please do not use a download manager to download the programs as this might lead to errors. Keep in mind that the download service purchased works best with a broadband Internet connection (> 128kbps). Neither License Technologies Group (LTG) nor Microsoft Corporation makes any warranties regarding the user’s (purchasing customer’s) Internet connectivity speed or product integrity . If you are experiencing difficulty downloading Office BETA, a physical copy can be obtained. In order to receive this please go back to the Office Preview site and request a physical copy there, http://www.microsoft.com/office/preview/default.mspx Kind regards, Microsoft Office Beta Team -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Aditya Sengupta [mailto:aditseng********.com] Sent: jeudi 26 octobre 2006 13:57 To: MicrosoftOfficeBetaTeam Subject: Unable to activate Hi, I am unable to activate my Office 2007 beta. I keep getting a message saying internet connection not available even though I am able to browse all websites. I have set my Windows Firewall to Off but it doesn't make any difference. How can I activate the product? Regards, Aditya |

| Re: Office 2007 Activation and Microsoft Office Beta Team idiocy I wasn't expecting a response in this newsgroup. Some type of update on the 2007 beta page would be nice warning people the activation is down prior to making the purchase. | Re: Office 2007 Activation and Microsoft Office Beta Team idiocy Patrick, Even if the public beta ended, the MSDN versions still require activation. There is no way the activation servers would be taken down, so this problem needs to be addressed regardless.
