How to organize files for a client who has over fifty stores?

I could use some suggestions on the best way to organize files for a client
of mine who has over fifty stores which we maintain. I am currently using
Microsoft Office 2003 Professional, but I haven't had the time to learn
everythihng that it has to offer. I thought about using binders but my
binders don't seem to accept e-mails. I have a ton of files for each store
and things are getting to be a bit overwhelming. Any suggestions would be
helpful.
Thanks,

Re: How to organize files for a client who has over fifty stores?

hmmm....

maybe a third party software designed
to index files and list them, categorized
them to your preference...

indexing files simply builds a database
of the files. MSAccess is a database
that can do this as well. But why
reinvent the wheel and then some..

Not sure what to say about emails,
but if each message has a file name,
then it is likely to be indexiable as well.

i think lotus notes may provide
a solution for indexing emails, because i recall before
911, i built a database with it for a client.
i think it was lotus notes with some other
speciality addin... cant remember....
