Activating/converting trial version of Access to full paid version

I recently bought a new computer with Microsoft Office installed. It came
with a trial version of Access 2007. I purchased the full version. I have
installed it but when I try to activate it nothing happens. Do I have to
wait until the trail version expires before it will allow me to activate the
full version or do I need to uninstall the trial version first? In which
case, I cannot locate the trial version to uninstall when I look for programs
to uninstall. It only brings up Microsoft Office - which I definitely don't
want to uninstall. Help please?

Re: Activating/converting trial version of Access to full paid version

You have to uninstall all versions of Office including any activation
assistant, then clear temp folders & reboot, prior to installing any paid
for version, or component

The office version it was supplied with was a trial version, access alone is
not supplied prinstalled as a trial version

Re: Activating/converting trial version of Access to full paid ver

The disc I have says - Microsoft Office Basic 2007 with Office Professional
2007 trial. I think that is where the trial version of access is located. I
do not have trial versions installed for word or excel. I tried to uninstall
and reinstall Microsoft Office System and then installing my paid version of
Access and it still says trial version.

Re: Activating/converting trial version of Access to full paid ver

Have you uninstalled all / any versions of MS Office shown in add/remove,
then rebooted?
How many Disks was Office supplied on? or was it a DVD?
Did you have to explicitly install the trial version?

It maybe that after using Add/Remove for MS Office, you may then have to use
this article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928218/en-us

If you installed MS Office Basic, then installed Office trial the trial may
have overwritten some of the Office files/ registry entries, and as such it
is not uninstalling correctly.

Re: Activating/converting trial version of Access to full paid ver

Ok I have uninstalled Office - my IT guy told me to rename the office folder
and that seemed to work. I have successfully installed Access and activated
it. I am now ready to reinstall Office. If i reinstall office will it
overwrite Access with the trial version? If so I do I go about installing
Office without that happening?

Re: Activating/converting trial version of Access to full paid ver

If you install the trial version it will screw your sys and you will be back
to square1
Install only your paid for Basic edition
