| Office 2007 Information 1. Is it possible to make Office 2007 programs resemble Office 2003 e.g. Make the familiar Word 2003 File - Edit - View - Insert menu items appear ? 2. Are there plans to bring out an Office 2010 or what is the roadmap for Office 2007? Thanks for any replies. |

Here's one for $29.95 http://www.addintools.com/english/me...ce/default.htm Here's a free one (maybe not as convenient as the commercial ones) http://in.geocities.com/shahshaileshs/menuaddins Tom Lake |

Google "ribbon customizer" The first hit should be Patrick Schmid's site. That should get you what you're after. > 2. | Re: Office 2007 Information OK at last! For me and everybody I've talked to (I teach at the professional level and often ask each class their thoughts on the ribbon) regarding the ribbon they hate it - mainly because they cannot find what they want. I for one find that I spend a lot of time trying to find some function that I desire whereas with the toolbar once customized it is right in front of me via one click. I'm open for suggestions, what the heck am I missing regarding the ribbon? -- jgt "Steve Rindsberg" <abuse@localhost.com> wrote in message news:VA.000046a1.32f38d2b@localhost.com... > In article <13042814-AFBD-44A7-B505-95E257F0700F@microsoft.com>, Mick > wrote: >> 1. There's a lot of info available from MS that describes how it came to be, the logic and research behind it. I think it works quite well for a certain class of users, but after Office has been the standard for what, a dozen years now, it's a little hard to find a total newbie any more. |

| Re: Office 2007 Information I have found three possible add-on that will resolve the issue at least for now. At this time I've not tested any of them thus I cannot state that one is better than the other or if there are things to be aware of. http://toolbartoggle.com/ToolbarToggleCompare.aspx this supports Word, Excel and PowerPoint and cost $20 (US). Classic Menu for Office 2007 at http://www.addintools.com/english/me...ce/default.htm or they also offer Ribbon Customizer for Office 2007 v4.00 which includes the Classic Menu for Word, Excel®, Access TM, Outlook® and PowerPoint® 2007, cost is $39 (US) RibbonCustomizer at http://pschmid.net/office2007/ribbon...izer/index.php, as I understand this add-in it only supports the ribbon bar and will NOT support the classic toolbar. It cost $30 (US) -- jgt "Steve Rindsberg" <abuse@localhost.com> wrote in message news:VA.000046a3.38705764@localhost.com... > In article <#sfAS7TUJHA.5024@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl>, Jgt wrote: >> OK at last! >> For me and everybody I've talked to (I teach at the professional level >> and >> often ask each class their thoughts on the ribbon) regarding the ribbon >> they >> hate it - mainly because they cannot find what they want. It cost $30 (US) None of them will create a *real* classic menu, since these are no longer supported in 2007; they probably modify the tabbed interface to mimic the classic menu bar. I'm pretty sure the last one listed includes a set of classic customizations, by the way. And while I don't know about the other two, I know the author of the last; he's done a *very* good job of this, IMO. |

| Re: Office 2007 Information Big thanks for your feedback, I value your input and will go with the last even though I'd rather see the classic menu. At least I can get the function on the ribbon I'm expecting the function to be on. -- jgt > None of them will create a *real* classic menu, since these are no longer > supported in 2007; they probably modify the tabbed interface to mimic the > classic menu bar.
