What are steps to rid previous office when loading new office 2007

I purchased office 2007 tried to load it and it wanted me to rid my computer
of previous versions. I've never had a problem like this so I returned the
software. What versions etc...were to be deleted and why the problems? When I
returned it the store said they could load it for $29.00 so now they have the
software. I still need at least office 2007 since what I've got is word for
windows 97.

Re: What are steps to rid previous office when loading new office 2007

If you have an existing version of Office on your computer, when you load a
newer version it offers to upgrade (replace) the older version or allow for
a parallel installation (keep the older). '

What happened to you is perfectly normal and did not require you to take
anything anywhere for any cost. Retrieve your computer and software and
start over. Pay close attention to the types of installation it offers and
make your choice.
