| Error open the pdf file directly from the IE I try to open the .pdf file directly from the IE, it show error " there was an error opening this document. this file cannot be found: PC installed with MS OFFICE 97 can open directly but pc pc with office 2000 and office 2003 or xp, can't open directly the .pdf file directly from the IE .. from the forum , mentioned about hotfix for office 2007, is there any hotfix for office 2000 or office 2007. We have few sites where users need to open directly. I tried use Adobe 7.0 ,8.0 & 9.0 , guessed not the adobe problem. |

| Re: Error open the pdf file directly from the IE Internet Explorer cannot on its own open/display a PDF file. You'd need to have the Adobe or FoxIt or similar PDF viewer installed. | Re: Error open the pdf file directly from the IE Hi, Definitely I have adobe viewer installed on the pc, i can open the download file if I save it to local drive, when you double click the pdf file from the any website, it will prompt you to opn or to save, if i select open, it will launch the adobe reader and the the error message "there was > an error opening this document. this file cannot be found" but if you click the save, to local drive, then use the adobe to open, it can open without error. the file assocatie is correct , i have checked. | Re: Error open the pdf file directly from the IE After upgrade to IE 7, I can open the pdf by using open options. but some of the application can not run in IE 7, Any idea why IE 6 having problem. I have two scenario problem open the .pdf file , user pc running on ms office 97 can open the .pdf from IE by using the open option but ms office 2000 , 2003 and xp can not open. user using IE 7 can open the .pdf from IE by using the open option Only specific website .pdf file can not open using open option.
