software, but discovered that Disc 1 is broken.
Is there a way to get a replacement disc without having to buy?

Not for Office 2000. Besides, if I'm not mistaken, Office 2000 Small
Business was OEM only so you couldn't transfer the software to another
computer anyway.

Actually, I was able to load it onto a computer I built after the original
computer(Gateway) the program came with crashed. The computer I built was
bought in individual parts from CompUSA...ASUS, Radeon...etc. Office worked
like a charm. I have the Product Key on it's manual.
So I wont be able to use this program anymore?

Windows and Office versions prior to XP don't require activation. You can
install a copy of Office 2000 on as many computers as your conscience will
allow, as long as you have install media and a Product Key. (That's why
subsequent versions require activation, of course.) I take it from your
last message you have solved the Disc 1 won't load problem?

NO!!!...The computer I built was destroyed by a malicious program, d-l'd by
MySpace, that couldn't be removed by my anti-virus program(McAfee). It
deleted my entire Registry.
I just recently bought a used Dell. I want my Office 2000 back, but my Disc
1 is broken. I can not insert it into the drive. How can I load the disc 1
info without the disc?

Does Microsoft have a location where I can enter the Product Key for the
software I have and d-l the program?

I suspect your only option now is EBay.....

Office 2000 cd's are no longer available for replacement from MS.
You will either have to source a replacement from eg Ebay or similar, or
locate someone who has Office 2000 so you can copy the cd, or use
openoffice, or buy a later version

As someone else pointed out, it is unlikely that Office 2000 is still
covered by this program, but it won't hurt to call. I have Premium

I figured that. However the disk only says "Please do not make illegal
copies of this disk". If he can find someone to help, and he has his own
Product Key, then any copy the OP succeeds in making or acquiring wouldn't
be illegal.
