| Re: If I buy a new laptop with XP(not Vista) can I reuse Office 2000XP If its a *retail version* you can you can install Office on WinXp or Vista, However there is no Office2000XP, there is Office 2000 & OfficeXP both will install on winXp or Vista allthough Outllook, iether version, will cause problems. If you use Office infrequently, or your Office cd is not a retail version, you can use the free 'Open Office' which is a none MS product "Fish5k" <Fish5k@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:9F87CDFB-618B-4DD2-8EAB-4B2154394026@microsoft.com... > Purchasing new laptop but really only use office products infrequently. > Mainly use for i/net and do not want to spend >$200 on another office > package. | Re: If I buy a new laptop with XP(not Vista) can I reuse Office 2000XP Hi Fish, In your current version of Word 2000 look in Help=>About, if the Product ID includes 'OEM' in the code then it's licensed to the machine and isn't transferable. Otherwise, you should be able to install from the original CD onto your new machine. ============= <<"Fish5k" <Fish5k@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:9F87CDFB-618B-4DD2-8EAB-4B2154394026@microsoft.com...
