| Activating German Language Pack for Office 2007 fails, unknown error I purchased downloadable German Language Pack for Office 2007 back in January, making a copy of the download and several of the Product Key. The "Merchant of Record" is Digital River globalTech. Now I am reinstalling the operating system and need to reinstall the language pack. The "Digital River SecuROM Product Activity Screen" says "Aktivierung fehlgeschlagen - unknown error" after contacting Digital River. There is a button for "Manuelle Aktivierung" but it requires a product unlock code which I do not have and was never given. Under "Manuelle Aktivierung" there are two text boxes, one for "Code anfragen" which contains a forty-four digit static text code that I do not recognize from any of my correspondence related to this order, and one for "Freischaltcode" ("unlock code") where it appears I am supposed to enter something. The Product Key does not work here. I have sent Office Customer Support and Digital River emails asking how to get past the error message or how to get an unlock key. Has anyone run into this before and what was the resolution? Feel free to cross post this to another Microsoft news group if there is a better one. Thanks! Earle Horton |

| Re: Activating German Language Pack for Office 2007 fails, unknown error I am getting somewhere. Office Customer Support says send them the "Code anfragen" which means "request code" and they will send me a new unlock code. Hope this works.... | Re: Activating German Language Pack for Office 2007 fails, unknown error Hi Earle, I have the same problem with my Russian Language Pack. You mentioned successfully contacting "Office Customer Support". On Microsoft site I found a page which offers E-mail & Phone Support for 90 days with no charge and then you have to pay $49.00. Is it the site you were talking about? By the way, my Russian version of your error message "Aktivierung fehlgeschlagen - unknown error" was made with a grammatical error :( Nicolai -- Nicolai ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Nicolai's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=47830 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=958999 http://forums.techarena.in |

| Re: Activating German Language Pack for Office 2007 fails, unknown error Nicolai, Use this page to contact Microsoft Office Online Customer Service: http://buy20.trymicrosoftoffice.com/...contactus.aspx Fill in your order number and the "Code anfragen" from your Activation Page. This is the code they give you near the bottom for manual activation of the software. This is what Customer Service told me to do the first time I contacted them. They will send you an unlock code by email. Or at least they promised to. I am still waiting. I also sent an email to Digital River customer support, but no reply yet. I don't think they actually do anything except to put the charge on your credit card. | Re: Activating German Language Pack for Office 2007 fails, unknown error I was there the first time but thought it is a wrong place to look for error code solutions. The SUBJECT drop-down list gives you an impression that it’s all about orders and deliveries. Will try. | Re: Activating German Language Pack for Office 2007 fails, unknown error It is, but I consider activating the software part of the delivery process. The first person I contacted assured me that I would get a code if I sent the code from the install application. Still waiting on that. It still doesn't answer the question, of why the product key does not open the package.
