Mac Office 2008 - Powerpoint Problems

Hi,

I'm running Office 2008 on my Mac Book Pro (Leopard - 10.5.2) and have a
couple of really annoying problems.

1) Resizing shapes - When I create shapes within a slide (e.g an arrow or
rectangle) I can't resize it using the normal drag spots on the shape. The
shape either stays the same size or will simply size to something completely
different.

2) Active Windows - A really annoying one. I use spaces and Expose a lot on
my Mac and Powerpoint doesn't seem to like this. I have numerous effects;
open presentations jump between spaces, can't bring a presentation to the
active window either by clicking on it or selecting it from the Window menu.

I'm not sure what the score is here. I've been a powerpoint user on PC for
many years and can't really understand why two pretty basic capabilities on
the Mac side of things don't want to play nicely with me!

Any thoughts/suggestions? Are these both known issues?
