how to save emails from outlook to a folder on desktop?

I have may emails from work in outlook I would like to save but I need the
space free. I need to know is their a way to import these emails to a folder
I setup on my desktop.

Drag the item from the Inbox and drop it in the folder.

How will that save space, moving them from A to B
Where exactly do you wish to save space, and why?
