RE: transfer office 2003 Pro from old computer to new laptop

I cant post a new question since there is no pane to put it in. How can I

Re: transfer office 2003 Pro from old computer to new laptop

You uninstall Office2007, clear temp files & reboot, then install Office
2003
(There is either Office 2003 or OfficeXP (2002))

MSFT Customer Support NOW says that IT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO REPLACE OFFICE 2007
WITH 2003. Are they in error? 2007 is so bad I dont trust them. Have you
actually done it with no ill effects?

Re: transfer office 2003 Pro from old computer to new laptop

Hi Don,

As with car models, Microsoft stops producing and selling older models when a new model comes out. Office 2007 editions are the
current model which has been out for over a year now :)

If you have already have an Office 2003 product CD you should be able to uninstall Office 2007 and reinstall Office 2003. If you
need to purchase Office 2003, you may need to search on the web or at local retailers.

RE: transfer office 2003 Pro from old computer to new laptop

How can I post a new question. I can get the reply page to come out for me to
type in, but cant get a page to post a new question.

I have a CD with Office 2003 but I am afraid to uninstall 2007 (horrible
program spell checks only in French and takes 5X as many clicks to do what
you want) for fear of corrupting my excel, word, and other data folders.

Re: transfer office 2003 Pro from old computer to new laptop

That is the exact reason to make backups. (Which you should do anyway!)

Hold down the CTRL key when clicking, to bypass your POP-UP blocker.
