How do I copy and paste my word count box to my doc.

Following direction given by an instructor at school, I cant seem to copy and
paste the word count box to my document...any ideas?

We haven't any idea what your instructor told you, so do it this way.

Click Tools, click Word count, hold down Alt and press Printscreen,
release keys, Close "Word count", Click Edit, Click Paste.

And if what you need is the number of words in the document, then copying
and pasting the Word Count dialog is the wrong way to do it...

Instead, use Insert > Field (or, in Word 2007, Insert > Quick Parts > Field)
and insert a NumWords field. Each time you update the field after editing
the document, it will refresh the count (which copy/paste can't do). There
are also NumChars and NumPages fields for a character count and a page
count.
