| Upgrading from MO 2000 Small Business to Microsoft Office 2007 The trial period for Microsoft Office 2007 that was pre-installed on my new laptop has recently ended. Before running the trial MO 2007 I had installed Microsoft Office 2000 from my old PC to the new laptop. Therefore, both programs are installed on the new laptop. Q1: Is it possible to upgrade from the older MO 2000 Small Business to Microsoft Office 2007? Q2: Why are documents that were created in MO Word 2000 automatically opening in MO Word 200, and, therefore, is read only? This has occurred since the trial period has ended . Thank you . |

| Re: Upgrading from MO 2000 Small Business to Microsoft Office 2007 Hi Shin Lee Lee, You can purchase an upgrade edition of Office 2007 and use the Office 2000 edition you have as the qualifying product for the upgrade http://office.microsoft.com/suites The file associations for Word, Excel and other file types that were inherited by Office 2007 when installed wouldn't automatically change to Office 2000 when the trial ends. The trial copy becomes a very large 'viewer' for files once the trial ends. You can uninstall the trial edition, restart the PC and do a repair/reinstall of Office 2000. If you have not already installed the Office 2007 compatibility pack from http://microsoft.com/downloads to let you open Office 2007 formatted files when you are in Office 2000 apps, you may wish to do so. =============== <<"shinleelee" <shinleelee@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:B9FF1B09-2C46-493A-91BD-9A1831406EC7@microsoft.com...
