| OneNote and Office Live shared Folders Sync? OK, I've got a Microsoft Small Business "Live" account for a website and now shared folders. I uploaded a copy of my OneNote 2007 section to the site and set permissions to "admin". So far so good. I then clicked on the dropbox menu for the OneNote Icon (as recognized by the shared folder view) and it offers to "edit with OneNote". Great! I see the sync icon working, I make changes, etc. However, as soon as I close the section, it "disappears" from my desktop! The changes are still on the website. So I want to "share" this section with others in my company but they are located around the country/world. I want each person to have a copy of the section and when they connect to the shared folder in "office Live" they get to make changes and /or add changes from their recent desktop copy. So I attempted to create a shared notebook with the UNC path to the Microsoft Live website/shared folder as the path. The only directory listings I get are on my "local" pc, not the shared folders on the website. Or I get a logon sreen and I fill it in and after several minutes it fails to connect or something. So I opened a helpdesk call to Microsoft and they say first say that OneNote documents are not supported (at all). I point out the drop box feature for "editing the OneNote file" and the nice icon that shows up in the shared folder. So then they change their minds and say that the "shared" feature is not supported in Office Live shared folders! Now come on, this is a Microsoft- sponsored website and Office product but the most critical aspect of OneNote for us is in the syncronous sharing, and I don't mean downloading a recent copy from the shared folder to the individual desktop... Anyone know more? Am I expecting too much from Office Live and OneNote? I just wanted it to work as expected. We can't afford to create/support a Sharepoint site for 10 users. I suppose we could pay a company for this service or use a shared site somewhere else , but is that necessary to accomplish this simple request? Thanks! |

| Re: OneNote and Office Live shared Folders Sync? Hi Tom, You may want to also post this in the separate support groups for MS Office Live at http://officelivecommunity.com and also in the MS Office OneNote discussion group using the link below. The OneNote folks may be more familiar with this issue. =============== <<"toml" <toml@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:DAD84D10-5DCD-4F46-A385-8941BC1DE6E6@microsoft.com...
