| seriously someone answer me PLEASE I have Office 2003 Pro on my computer but need to install Office 2007 Pro. Do I need to uninstall 2003 version first and if I do, will I be able to open my files I created using 2003? If I uninstall 2003 can I install it on another one of my computers? |

Do I need to uninstall 2003 version first . . . No. You'd need to use a custom install of Office 2007 and specify that it should NOT remove Office 2003/older versions. > . . . and if I do, will I be able to open my files I created using >2003? Yes for standard Office 2003 file types. Not necessarily if you used Office 2003 applications to create files in non-Microsoft file types. >If I uninstall 2003 can I install it on another one of my computers? Not legally if your Office 2003 license is an OEM one, unless you reside in Germany which bans OEM licenses (so automatically converts OEM licenses to retail-equivalent licenses). |

| Re: seriously someone answer me PLEASE Why didn't you wait for someone to respond to the first post you made 34 minutes earlier. No one works here, this is a free "peer to peer" help newsgroup and it takes time, sometimes days to get a response. Now to answer your questions. You may uninstall Office 2003 ('03) (and some people recommend it) prior to installing Office 2007 ('07) or you can allow '07 to overwrite the existing '03 or allow the existing '03 to be run side by side with '07 (except Outlook as only one version can be installed at a time.) Simply answer the questions appropriately when you are attempting to install '07. 2nd question. If '03 is a retail version of Office it can be installed on any other computer you choose. Should it be an OEM (and I can't remember if '03 Pro comes in an OEM version) version it can't be installed on any other machine. | Re: seriously someone answer me PLEASE Along with the other notes about OEM version installation, which is the license is non-transferrable, if you are using Office 2003 as a qualifying product for an Office 2007 upgrade then, no, legally it cannot be installed on another computer. Please post all follow-up questions to the newsgroup.
