Slow Autorecover

When working in Word or Excel 2007, with *.xls and *.doc files (for workplace
compatibilty), the autorecover function kicks in to save the data and I lose
the office product for as much as ten minutes. I have a P4d ee with 2GB ram,
Windows XP sp2. So far it appears that the only solutions are to work in
*.xlsx or *.docx files or disable autorecover on those files that need to
stay in the shared format. Some email filters remove the *.xlsx and *.docx
files from emails and not everyone has Office 2007.
