| Office 2007 SP1 breaks Microsoft Office Document Scanning I have been using Microsoft Office Document Scanning for very long time both previously under XP and now under Vista - without a single problem. I went ahead and applied Office 2007 Service Pack 1 few days ago and since the moment the update was applied every time I scan a document using Microsoft Office Document Scanning and automatic OCR is enabled the application throws an error: Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: MSPOCRDC.EXE Application Version: 12.0.4518.1014 Application Timestamp: 45417579 Fault Module Name: kernel32.dll Fault Module Version: 6.0.6000.16386 Fault Module Timestamp: 4549bd80 Exception Code: e0000002 Exception Offset: 0001b09e OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID: 4105 Additional information about the problem: LCID: 1033 Brand: Office12Crash skulcid: 1033 When I turn OFF automatic OCR this error does not come up. Anyone has experience the same thing? |

| Re: Office 2007 SP1 breaks Microsoft Office Document Scanning Mine seems to be working OK. I don't use it that often, I scanned one page and it auto OCR just fine -- Bob Eyster MS Windows Vista Home Premium "dziogo" <dziogo******.com> wrote in message news:e97ec4e7-f236-4d86-8964-29c35b8dac88@l1g2000hsa.googlegroups.com... >I have been using Microsoft Office Document Scanning for very long > time both previously under XP and now under Vista - without a single > problem. > > I went ahead and applied Office 2007 Service Pack 1 few days ago and > since the moment the update was applied every time I scan a document > using Microsoft Office Document Scanning and automatic OCR is enabled > the application throws an error: > > Problem signature: > Problem Event Name: APPCRASH > Application Name: MSPOCRDC.EXE > Application Version: 12.0.4518.1014 > Application Timestamp: 45417579 > Fault Module Name: kernel32.dll > Fault Module Version: 6.0.6000.16386 > Fault Module Timestamp: 4549bd80 > Exception Code: e0000002 > Exception Offset: 0001b09e > OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1 > Locale ID: 4105 > > Additional information about the problem: > LCID: 1033 > Brand: Office12Crash > skulcid: 1033 > > When I turn OFF automatic OCR this error does not come up. | Re: Office 2007 SP1 breaks Microsoft Office Document Scanning I got the same problem after installing Office 2007 SP1 using two different scanners. Scanning without sheet feeder or scanning only one page with the sheet feeder is no problem. The problem comes after sanning the second or third page. Resetting the printer is required. Any help is very welcome. -- Evert Jan Stokking ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Evert Jan Stokking's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=39104 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=881580 http://forums.techarena.in |

| Re: Office 2007 SP1 breaks Microsoft Office Document Scanning I found this bug on the Microsoft support pages. It is a "known issue" with number 943087. See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/943087/ WORKAROUND (copied from Microsoft pages): To work around this problem, use another scanner application. For example, you can use the scanner software that was included with the scanner. If you are using Windows Vista Business or Windows Vista Ultimate, you can use the "Windows Fax and Scan" tool. -- Evert Jan Stokking ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Evert Jan Stokking's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=39104 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=881580 http://forums.techarena.in |

| Re: Office 2007 SP1 breaks Microsoft Office Document Scanning Another workaround: turn off OCR in the preset options of Microsoft Document Scanning. For me it worked. OCR can be done afterwards in Microsoft Document Imaging. -- Evert Jan Stokking ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Evert Jan Stokking's Profile: http://forums.techarena.in/member.php?userid=39104 View this thread: http://forums.techarena.in/showthread.php?t=881580 http://forums.techarena.in |
