I have Office Enterprise 2007 and am experiencing the same french spell check
problem for my word 2007 documents and outlook email. I live in Florida and
do not know French. I followed the instructions provided with regard to some
of the other threads and found my "set language" was already set the the
"English" default. I also attempted to go to Word 2007 - word options -
proofing - and it says below custom dictionary "French modes:". In the
Outlook - options - spelling - language drop down box it only gives me the
(only) option of French(France). With the exception of these two areas,
everything else shows my default as English. What can I do? Thanks.

There is a known issue with OE and Microsoft Office 2007 whereby only the French dictionary is an option. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932974 and http://www.outlook-tips.net/archives/2006/20061228.htm . I am not sure if this is related to the problem you are having.
