| need to move office 07 to a different computer How do I "de-activate" (or whatever you call it) my Office 2007 so that I can put it on my new laptop? I tried uninstalling off old laptop and then installing on new laptop and when I go to activate the software it tells me that I can't activate it because I've exceeded the number of times it could be activated. I can't believe that they would make me buy all new software just because I'm getting a new laptop. I can see where that would be a problem if I were putting it on multiple machines, but I've taken it off of the old one. Can anyone help? Thanks, |

| Re: need to move office 07 to a different computer It depends on how you acquired Office 2007. If it came pre-installed on your old machine, it cannot be moved as it is tied to that machine. If it is a retail version, then you need to use the telephone activation method to activate. -- Milly Staples [MVP - Outlook] Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact.
