| mdi now fails to save after scanning & screen capture fails all to Hello, I have been battling this issue for awhile now but legal issues force me to fix this NOW! I thank you in advance for all help. Here is what's going on: 1)I have read through mdi discussions here-tried a few things suggested like going to the Add Programs>Setup>then found Tools>Document Imaging...but... then notice 2 of the 3 options show a status of X'd out (red X). Those two are: a)Help c)Scanning, OCR, & Indexing Filter. The b) Microsoft Document Image Writer shows a status of "1" 2)when I run my scanner...scanning in a document to the computer...it works fine as it scans & does OCR but as I click on To Save As...it gives an error .. I am uncertain if this came about because of SP3 or when I purchased and upgrade of MS Office 2007 Pro. AS I WENT TO GET EXACT ERROR NOTICE TO POST HERE- it started working! Tried it 2x and still going...next issue 3)When I try to mdi a page online, it no longer brings up my Document List so that I can save it to a file. It does nothing! This means I am unable to scan online. Thats it for now...please advise, GJ |

| Re: mdi now fails to save after scanning & screen capture fails allto Can't really decipher your question, but perhaps this is applicable? You may experience issues when you run the Microsoft Office Document Imaging program after you install Office 2003 Service Pack 3 http://support.microsoft.com/kb/938813/en-us GJ wrote: > 11/13/07 3p Is there no one else that is having this issue???? | RE: mdi now fails to save after scanning & screen capture fails al Thank you Bob, I just went through that info and checked it out. Most was set as per the article accept the TIF. I did change that to be viewed by mdi but that is really wasn't (yet) my issue....I will try to better explain this to you.... Here is a live example... The article you gave me...it would be wonderful to save that in my computer (for instance) so I would highlight the appropriate text then press Ctrl Print and that brings up my printer list. Then i would mark the "selection" button to only print the area I have selected. Now I would make sure that Microsoft Document Image Write is the item selected in the printer view as to then save in that area vrs. physically printing it out. This used to then bring up the My Documents Save box so that I could choose where to save the mdi file. Again, this is the issue. The My Documents list of folders where I would choose to save this item at NO LONGER is even shown. Absolutely nothing happens and that is the issue. Hope this helps. | Re: mdi now fails to save after scanning & screen capture fails al Perhaps what you are actually trying to say is, "nothing happens when I press Ctrl-P" ? Click File, Print instead. Perhaps your "Ctrl-P" combo has be redirected by some software you installed, knowingly or not? GJ wrote: > Thank you Bob, I just went through that info and checked it out. | Re: mdi now fails to save after scanning & screen capture fails al Yes Bob, I wrote "...Ctrl Print..." as to make it very clear. I spent 4.5 hours that day and got it working! It was a setting with the red X over the Writer as I had eluded to before but did not know to click on the menu. Problem solved! Thanks again for trying to help!
