| Change default Save As format My brother is having trouble sharing files saved with his Office 2007 with people using earlier versions. How can he change the default save format to something compatible with other versions? -- Thanks... Bob |

| RE: Change default Save As format Bob, let's say your brother wants to set Word 2007 to save files in a previous Word document format. All he has to do is to click on the Office button while in word, then click on the Word Options button at the bottom of the resulting dialog. Then he can click on the Save item in the left pane of the Word Options dialog. The topmost dropdown option in the right-hand pane will let him choose which format to save as by default. This works for the Office 2007 apps that have Office buttons in the top left corner. The other Office apps, like Visio, would handle it a bit differently, but I gather you're asking about the more "standard" apps.
