3 year old Dell computers

Does anyone know if the memory from one dell computer can just be inserted in
another dell computer? Or do the memory sticks have to be designed for that
model and do all the memory sticks in a given computer have to be the same
memory size?

Re: 3 year old Dell computers

Maybe, Maybe, Not necessarily.

Run the memory advisor tool located at www.crucial.com for each make and
model machine. If the memory types for both systems are the same the answer
to question 1 is Yes.

There are some machines that require specifically designed memory modules
but Dell machines aren't one brand that does.

Depending on the memory configuration, the memory bus configuration, etc.
some machines require two like memory modules while other machines could
care less about the size of the memory stick. Again the memory advisor will
be an invaluable resource to help you find your answers to these questions.
