Can you get newsgroups like this in Outlook 2007? I looked, but it doesn't
look like it's possible. I hate to have to use Live for my newsgroups if I
want to use Outlook for my e-mail.
If anyone knows how newsgroups can be added in Outlook, thanks.

No, Outlook doesn't do newsgroups. You can use Outlook Express if you have
XP or earlier or Windows Mail if you are using Vista.

What I've heard rather consistently is "don't hold your breath." The
discussion here seems to sum things up vis-a-vis the capability being added
to Outlook by Microsoft:

However... there is a company that claims to have an add-in the allows
reading/posting using Outlook (including 2007):

I have NOT used this, and I know nothing about it. I just googled and found
it. They offer a 30 day trial, so you could see if it meet your wants &
needs. It's $24 if you decide you want to keep it.

PS... I tried the mapilab add-on, but it was too balky for my tastes. Also,
I tried to post a response to this newsgroup, and it sat vegetating in my
Outbox. So, I uninstalled.

It does demonstrate that the possibility is feasible. But, it's going to
take some work to get acceptable performance, IMO. YMMV, of course.
