office 2007 ona a network - access denied

Hi,
I'm using vista business with office 2007 SBS in a domain.
A few days age i encountered a problem trying to open word/excel documents
from a network on win2000 server/xp pro shares- word(excel) starts up, shows
"downloading document" at the bottom of screen and then gives error message:
"access denied. contact administrator".
When i copy the same document onto my desktop- it opens finely. When i try
to open the same document from network share with notepad- it opens fine also.
Automatic updates on computer are disabled. Tried loging on with another
account on the same computer- no success opening documents from network...
Tried uninstalling office2007, deleting office related folders from users
profile and program files, then installing office again- no effect...
A group of xp pro + office 2007 pc's have no problems.

I am experiencing the same problem using Vista Enterprise with Office
2007 Enterprise. Other files on network drives open just fine, but not
office apps. There seems to be a fair amount of discussion out there
about the problem, but no solution....
