I have a user that has Office 2003 installed on a Windows XP machine and is
trying to open an Excel 2007 document. The Office Compatibility Pack has
been installed. When you click on Open a prompt will come up asking for a
password. When you hit Cancel the message then tells you the conversion
could not happen...something like that I don't remember the exact words to
the error. The file is not password protected. I have re-installed the
compatibility pack and still get the same issue. The file can be opened fine
on Office 2007 and no password prompt comes up.
