I have trial versions of 2007 on my laptop and desktop. Different keys for
both. Can I buy for my laptop and migrate it over to desktop?

Yes, the EULA allows for installing on one main PC and a portable with the

Re: Multiple users

Ensure you opt for the physical media if buying from Microsoft. A better deal can be had from Amazon.com with free shipping if you still have a few days on your trial.
