indexes and concordance files

I have a document in which I have made index marks but some are wrong. I
know how to delete them individially, but this is tedious.

Is is possible to re-load my concordance file and overwrite all these marks?
It would make sense to have the index updated as the concordance file
changes, rather than manually making a new index each time the concordance
file changes.

tips on this would be appreciated...the help is a little short on the topic
