Office 2000 Premium Disk 1

My Disk 1 has been damaged and I need to reinstall it in my son's computer,
who is away at college and now needs some Word files from his idle computer.
I have intact Disks 2, 3, and 4 and the product key. How can I redownload
disk 1? The Word program says it is looking for something like MS.data1, and
I guess it's on the damaged Disk 1.

Replacements for Office 2000 disks are no longer available from Microsoft.

If the files that your son needs are data files, you can email or copy the
files to some media from Windows Explorer. You do not need to have Word
installed. If you have multiple files, you could ZIP them into a single
file.

Else, you could borrow or purchase a used copy of Office 2000 of the same
version {Standard, Professional etc} that your son has installed and use
those disks.

no Office software other than trial versions are available for legal
download. Office 2000 is long out of support and Microsoft no longer has
replacement disks. Your best and only bet is to purchase Office Premium
from eBay or another auction site.

As I peruse the other answers similar to this, it appears that there is no
immediate way to do this, if at all. Is it everyone's understanding that this
conclusion is correct?

Re: Office 2000 Premium Disk 1

Thank you very much Don and Susan, but how did you know that my head was
itching? I do have other copies of Word 2000, but no product key for it.
Anything I can do with that one? Thanks.

Re: Office 2000 Premium Disk 1

Your observations are correct, but why do you need to install word/office in
order to copy / send some data files?

Re: Office 2000 Premium Disk 1

Until not too long ago Microsoft was still offering replacement product keys
for *non-OEM versions* of Office 2000. Not the disks tho. Since the last
time I hear Office 2007 has been released so I'm not sure what the current
policy is.

I don't know where you're located so this information is for the US and
maybe, but I'm not certain, Canada.

Download Office 2000 Premium from the torrents. Burn an ISO of disk 1. I
found three within 2 minutes of digging. This gem of wisdom I won't post to
the ms n/g, but seeing as how eBay prices are $100 to $250 for this it's
what I would do.

Very dangerous to do this in terms of Virus\Malware\Spyware getting on your system. Pretty well known as a fact
