| Re: Issue with scan of legal doc in Document Scanning? I wanted to reiterate the hassle of finding this issue as well and complained about it to Canon. I work in application development and specialize in user interface design and usability. This is the trouble I went through to find how to scan a legal size document for the Canon Pixma MP830 - Went through all the scanning options (Legal size option should definitely be in here but wasn't) - Went through all the copy options and went back and forth to scanning options (legal option is in here and I could make a legal copy but I couldn't SCAN!) - Looked through the manual in the scan/copy section (legal size scanning should definitely be in here as well) - Opened up MPNavigator 2.2 software as suggested - In this software, went to the first link Photo/Document (there should be a legal size scanning option in here as well) - Google searched found other people that wondered about this feature - Google searched in Groups and found another person complaining about this as well - FINALLY, went to Canon support page, FAQs and searched "legal size document" http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/co...modelid=12804# NOTE: search for "legal size document" not a direct link - And found out that this option is ONLY available from the MP Navigator software when you click on BATCH Processing. Why? This is simply a horrible user interface, documentation, extremely difficult to find feature even thoug it is VERY valuable. I suggested to Canon that a new firmware be created to add this capability to the actual machine UI, and to the software to make it available in the first option of Scan Photo/Document as well. I did want to add however that I have had this printer for about 6 months and absolutely love it otherwise and this has been the one and only bad experience I have had with this machine.
