Outlook delay

First my Outlook 2003 used to crash very often and took ages to re-open
because it was checking files/folders... Then I ran scanpst.exe and now when
it crashes (still too often) it opens easily. But now, when I try to attach a
file to an emmail msg and I browse thru the folders, it takes forever to open
each folder... If I click too much when it is doing that process, then it
crashes! Any help? Thanks in advance.

Re: Outlook delay

Unmap any disconnected mapped drives.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, frederico roldao asked:

Re: Outlook delay

I went to "my Computer and in tools I chose disconnect mapped drive, then I
disconnected one that apllied. Is this what you meant?

However, before I saw your reply the same old thing happened. Outlook
crashed and then it took about 30 minutes to restart (while the "personal
folders" file was being checked for problems"...). My "personal folders" file
is huge, over 2,5Gb. Can I reduce its size and mak it more usable other than
deleting messages or addresses or compacting them?

Re: Outlook delay

Why not use the Archive facility?

Re: Outlook delay

Because I frequently need to go thru old email messages, so, archiving is not
a good solution...

Re: Outlook delay

Why?
You can have the archive open in OL, its just another pst.
Currently I have 4 archives open.
