| Moving from Office 2003 Professional to Office 2003 Standard We are reviewing the differences between Office 2003 Professional and Standard and have reviewed the online documentation of what products do not come with standard, but now I'm reading some other functionality like XML will be not work. Has anyone downgraded and run into functionality that is no longer available? We do XML documents and connect to databases through excel. We are not a total Microsoft shop yet, but intend to move that direction this year. Would anyone see any direct benefits after we move to a total Microsoft shop that we might be missing. Any information is appreciated. Thanks. |

| Re: Moving from Office 2003 Professional to Office 2003 Standard Hi Sky Eyes, For Office 2003 all of the editions supported XML when used with the default MS schema (WordProcessing.ML for Word for example), but only the standalone copies of Word and Excel and the copy of Word and Excel in the Professional Editions include support for attaching custom schemas. In Office 2007 the XML support is consistent across the editions, but there are some other (non XML related) differences in features between the retail and 'enterprise/volume license' products. ============ <<"SkyEyes" <SkyEyes@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:4B64CE0D-7978-4CDC-9350-B5AB8994FB28@microsoft.com...
