That is strange. glxgears should give you some output to the terminal you started it from, if you let it run for a few seconds. Also if you make the glxgears window bigger, you will see a big slowdown in the drawing of the gears if you don't have hardware acceleration. gjs@blackbox:~$ glxgears 62 frames in 5.2 seconds = 11.999 FPS <-- small window 17 frames in 5.3 seconds = 3.229 FPS <-- big window |
